The Three Tools: Scales, Chords, and Arpeggios!

There are few things that are as important to the bass player as his knowledge of Chords, Scales or Arpeggios.

Most of the tradition of western music is based upon Harmony. These are the tools that allow you to bend and work with Harmony to create music that has meaning and substance.

While these three tools might sound dry and boring, they can actually be fun to use and play with.

Once you know what you're actually playing on the bass and how it all connects together, you'll have a lot more fun making music that you want to make.

You'll be able to create riffs and passages that have more meaning and depth than ever before.

In order to do that, all you need to do is learn a handful of notes.

Really.

That's all that these are; Tones organized to create a certain Harmonic body and sound.

They really aren't all that difficult to learn and you can play a new one in as short a time as a couple of minutes.

If you're looking to learn to play Chords, you can either continue to that page from the bottom link on this page, or you can click the tab on the left side of this page labeled "Chords".

The same goes for Scales and Arpeggios.

Again, If you have any questions or need something, simply send me a message at my Contact Us page. I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.
